Description
Buckwheat honey is made from bees collecting pollen and nectar from the buckwheat flowers when they are in bloom. They are actually a white flower and the bees make black honey with it. Buckwheat honey is super dark and strong in taste. It tastes like molasis to many people with hints of chocolate undertones. The darker the honey, the stronger it tastes, and the more antioxidants it has.
I love putting this honey on eggs in the morning, adding it to yogurt, putting it on waffles, or making a marinade for steak with garlic and soy sauce! Ive also made honey cakes and pies with Buckwheat honey.
Alot of breweries make mead and Irish beers with Buckwheat honey.
